Frequently
Asked Questions
How long is a ceremony ?
You decide.You
can include as much or as little as you wish, and I will ensure
the legal requirements are included. Most ceremonies are between
15 and 30 minutes.
Can
I write my own vows ?
Yes you can.
Couples are encouraged to make their ceremonies as personalised
as they wish. I am pleased to work with you to develop your own
unique ceremony. I can also assist with examples if you need them.
You may have special cultural or lifestyle aspects which are important
to you; these can of course be included.
Can
my family/friends be involved in the ceremony ?
Of course.
Other than as members of the wedding party, with traditional roles,
couples often choose family members or friends to read verses;
perform musical items; offer a blessing, etc.
What
papers do I need ?
You will need
to be able to present original legal documents to me prior to
your wedding day. These include your Birth Certificate; your Passport
is acceptable, if you are not an Australian citizen & were
born overseas; your Decree Absolute, if divorced; if widowed,
your spouse's Death Certificate.
What
if my Partner, or both of us, are living overseas or interstate?
The documents
described above are required. Once contact has been made, the
process can be continued via mail, email, and/or telephone, with
a face-to-face meeting to finalise all the arrangements and documentation
prior to the wedding.
Can
I hold my Ceremony at home ?
Yes, you can.
You have complete choice of the venue for your wedding. I have
performed ceremonies in hundreds of locations. Talk to me if you
would like further suggestions to your own ideas.
